DEFIBRILLATOR performance art gallery is proud to present AIR POCKET PROJECT, a series of four inflatable performance installations taking place at Wicker Park Fest on Saturday & Sunday July 26 & 27 from noon to 8pm on N Milwaukee & Evergreen Avenues Wicker Park Chicago IL 60622. APP aims to embrace that nostalgic connection we all have with inflatable objects.

Laura Moore – Documentor | Docent
Laura Moore is a freelance videographer and animator residing in Chicago. She loves the adrenaline of documenting and enjoys collaborating with the artists to capture their performances. She also enjoys writing and working on her own video projects in her spare time. Laura is excited to be a volunteer this year for the Air Pocket Project and looks forward to making new friends and connections with fellow volunteers and artists.
Christian R Diaz – Docent
Christian R Diaz is an artist and interdisciplinary designer who is influenced by two opposites. He finds urban living, with the hustle and bustle, a primary element for inspiration. On the other hand, he also finds inspiration in the peaceful solitude of running. He provides research and conceptualization of projects, and process development. “Utilizing three of the five senses, I produce tactile (postcards), visual (electronic, web, video) and sonorous (music) art.”
Chelsie Niemi – Docent
Chelsie Niemi is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor with a focus in Art History and English. She is currently the archive intern at the Defibrillator Gallery and has contributed to the Rapid Pulse blog. Her passion for learning and writing about performance art has inspired her to develop her own work. She is planning to write and create performances throughout the next year in order to apply for a MA and MFA graduate program.
Emerson Sigman – Documentor | Docent
Emerson Sigman was born in Chicago, IL. He is a 2014 graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Arts and Sciences. Sigman’s practice involves performance and moving image works. He has been featured in The Stereo Studio, Forget Good, and Columbia College’s Imprint publication. Sigman is also the recipient of a mentorship project through Homeroom’s Emerging/Established Artists Exchange. He loves a challenge.
Samantha Yiyao Chao – Docent
Sam Chao currently studys Fine Arts at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. Her works attempt to create a universal strangeness to her audience. She explores the role of semiotics as a form of communication. One can view her work in this website
